A classic Kewa heishi necklace of blue Kingman Arizona turquoise and sterling silver, hand cut and crafted in traditional style by accomplished Pueblo artists James and Doris Coriz. The stones are fairly roughly hand cut to various bead thicknesses and then polished to a nice lustre. The colour palette ranges from pale to mid-blue and the stones are matrixed in sandy brown with some flecks of gold. The ends of the necklace are finished with small sterling silver spherical beads and then tied off in the traditional way. A sterling silver hook clasp is fitted. The singular charm of this technique is its rough, earthy, artisanal allure, which coordinates with any outfit from business casual to everyday wear. A timeless treasure indeed.
